Violet and Denys Trefusis
There’s a scrapbook of Violet’s in Yale’s Beinecke Library archives that I recently discovered. While mostly composed of formal portraits featuring the upper classes in vacation mode, there are some gems hidden in the mix. For instance, Violet’s lover Winnaretta Singer posing cooly with Violet’s famously overbearing mother.
