ca. 1892, [Columbian Exposition souvenir, presidential viewing box machine]
The box rests on four wooden feet which turn to control a continuous paper roll upon which are lithographed portraits of the American Presidents from George Washington to Benjamin Harrison. By turning the knobs, the portraits move across the stage. The top of the box features a chromo lithograph of the Landing of Columbus; the back with the U.S. Capital , left side with Masonic Temple, Chicago and right side with printed index of the Presidents with dates and number of terms served on ribbon scroll with bald eagle atop U.S. shield.
